Hanalei Hawaii Nature Photography
Dates: April 22, 2015 to April 29, 2015
Location: Kauai Island
April 22 thru 29, 2015.
We will meet at the Hanalei Cottages at 6:00 p.m. where we will have
an informal buffet dinner and introduction. Check in after 3:00 p.m.

We will photograph the island.
A last morning shoot - breakfast. Check out by 10:00 a.m.
Cottage 3 or 4
$2075.00 - per person double occupancy - sharing cottage.
$2375.00 - per person single occupancy - sharing cottage.
$2125.00 - per person double occupancy - sharing cottage.
$2475.00 - per person single occupancy - sharing cottage.
All the cottages have indoor and outdoor showers so both can be used.
We prefer our guests to use the outdoor shower so the water does not
go straight into the waste system. Cottage 4 & 5 both have an
additional sink in one of the rooms which helps with brushing teeth,
We do only allow four guests in each cottage. Cottage 3 & 4 both
have queen size beds and a day bed. Cottage 5 has three queen size
beds and a day bed.
What is included:
Lodging at Hanalei Cottages for 7 nights.
Informal buffet dinner on the 22nd and farewell breakfast on the 29th.
Early morning snack and drink to hold you until breakfast.
Help with your camera (if you want it).
I will share my knowledge of composition and camera settings, and
during non-shooting hours, Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.
One large (up to 8 sq. ft.) Ultrachrome print of your best island image.
What is not included:
Air fare to and from Kauai.
Transportation on the island.
All other meals and beverages.
Any tips for the staff at the cottages.
We could possibly be unable to photograph some of the time due to rain.
Of course there is nothing that can be done to charge the weather, and
accepting that fact ahead of time will insure a pleasant experience for
What to bring:
A good understanding of how your camera controls work.
Rain gear for yourself and your camera equipment.
Proper foot wear for hikes and wet conditions.
Required camera equipment:
Digital SLR camera body.
Wide angle lenses for landscapes.
Telephoto lenses for birds and marine animals.
Extra batteries and charger.
Extra flash cards.
Camera backpack or bag with waterproof cover.
The manual for your camera.
External hard drives.
Photographing the island:
We will begin each day by being at location and ready to shoot before
sunrise 5:30 a.m. Everyone that wants to participate must be on time.
We will leave at as scheduled with or without you - sorry no exceptions.
After the morning light has faded we will have a late breakfast. During
mid-day you will have the opportunity to download and review your
images. I will be available during this time to assist in digital processing
and editing your work or you can take time for your own adventure.
We will have an early dinner daily - seek out magical evening
light - and photograph until it’s gone normally around 6:45 p.m.
A deposit of $1000 will be due upon booking no later than August 31,
2012 with the balance due by January 1, 2013. If you need to cancel
we will refund your deposit only if we can fill your spot.
A refund of $200 per cottage needed for the security deposit will be
returned if it is available.
